The COVID Commercial and Residential Tenancies Legislation Amendment (Extension) Bill 2020 has been passed extending the eviction moratorium until 28 March 2021.

Victorians who find themselves in financial hardship due to COVID-19 will not be evicted from their homes (with limited exceptions) or have their rent increased before 28 March 2021. 

Renters and rental providers who struggle to reach agreement over rent reductions can already access the dispute resolution service run by Consumer Affairs Victoria (External link).

To support these rent reduction agreements, the Victorian Government has established an $80 million grant fund to provide payments of up to $3,000.
