The Renters Advisory Group (RAG) routinely engage directly with the Commissioner for Residential Tenancies to share their stories and emerging issues in the private rental sector in Victoria. This helps to inform the Commissioner’s work to champion the rights of renters and gives them a voice to seek change, where needed, to rental policies, laws and programs.

The RAG is an important mechanism for incorporating direct consumer experiences and recommendations into the advice the Commissioner for Residential Tenancies provides to the Victorian Government.

Members of the RAG are appointed for a term of 2 years and may serve a maximum of two terms (4 years), and are drawn from renters living in Victoria and appointed through a formal recruitment process.

The RAG consists of 9 members who represent the broad diversity of renters in the private and community rental sector in Victoria.
